Delete your data

Your content, and how to remove it.

Effective date: 16 October 2026. This page describes Still Alight Android version 1.3.4 (39) and later production releases. Earlier 1.1.1 builds do not include the advertising SDK.

Still Alight currently has no app account. Your candle preferences, remembrance content, label designs and imported media are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You do not need to send us an account-deletion request to remove that local content.

Remove individual items

Item / What to do / What it removes
ItemWhat to doWhat it removes
Imported audioOpen Home → Controls → Sound → Remove audioThe app's imported audio copy, saved selection and beat-analysis cache; your original file remains
A loved one's recordingOpen Remembrance, choose the loved one, select Edit, change Their sound to another option and SaveThe app's copy of the recording chosen for them; your original file remains
A loved one's remembranceOpen Remembrance, choose the loved one, select Edit → Delete, then confirmThat profile, its saved remembrance dates and any recording chosen for them; custom-label files may remain separately
A remembrance dateOpen the date for editing and select Delete this date, then confirmThat saved date; the profile and its other dates remain
A saved labelOpen Style → Customize label → Saved designs, use the design's ⋮ → Delete design, then confirmThe saved design and its rendered revisions; candles using it return to their original label
A label draftWhen leaving an edited label, choose Discard draftThat draft; a saved design or an imported image copy may remain

Changing a label back to its original design does not delete the custom design. Deleting a saved design removes its imported images when no saved design, revision or draft still uses them. Removing a photo layer can keep an image used by a saved version of that label. Deleting a remembrance profile does not clean up all of its label files.

Replacing and applying a different wallpaper photo removes the previously saved wallpaper photo copy. Switching to a bundled background or a color keeps that private photo copy. Live wallpaper → My Photos → Remove saved photo removes that private copy. A wallpaper using it returns to the plain backdrop; your original photo remains. Use the complete reset below to remove all private app files, including retained photos, from the current installation.

Remove all local app data

  1. Open your phone's Settings → Apps → Still Alight: 3D Candle.
  2. Open Storage or Storage & cache.
  3. Choose Clear storage or Clear data, and confirm.

Menu names vary by phone. Clear cache alone is not a complete reset. Clearing storage resets candle preferences and removes remembrance profiles, dates, label designs and drafts, imported label and wallpaper image copies, imported audio, and the Pro status saved on this phone from this installed copy. Restore purchases brings back an active Still Alight Pro purchase. It cannot be undone through a Still Alight account or server.

Uninstalling the app also removes its local private data from that installation. If your phone offers to keep app data while uninstalling, do not select that option when your intention is to remove it.

Copies outside this installation

Backups exported through Settings → Backup & restore are separate password-protected files. Removing app content does not remove exported backups. Delete those files in the local or cloud provider where you saved them.

Removing app content does not delete original photos or audio in your gallery or file provider. Manage those files in the app or service where they are stored.

Still Alight disables Android cloud backup and excludes all app storage domains from its Android backup and device-transfer rules. Device manufacturers and independent migration services may behave differently. Any copies already made by a migration or backup service, including copies from earlier versions, must be managed through that service or device. Clearing this installation does not reach another device or a separate copy.

We cannot access or remotely erase the private content stored in your Still Alight installation.

Support messages and privacy requests

If you have emailed support, you can request deletion of that correspondence by emailing tex@discvault.us. Identify the conversation or email address involved; please do not send the private app content you are trying to remove. Any lawful retention exception will be explained if it applies.

We keep support correspondence while it is needed for support and delete it on request unless retention is legally required. Email-provider backups and retention practices may apply separately. The website is hosted by GitHub Pages, which keeps its own security records. Requests about those records can be made using the contact and rights information in the GitHub Privacy Statement. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Advertising SDK information

Turn Settings → Wallpaper ads off to remove the wallpaper ad and prevent new app-issued wallpaper ad requests. A request already in flight can finish. Rewarded ads play only when you choose one. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local advertising preferences and SDK caches from this installation, but does not erase records already processed by Google. For Google's retention and privacy controls, see the Google Privacy Policy. We cannot retrieve or remotely erase Google's records. The Privacy Policy describes the advertising SDK's data handling.

Still Alight Pro purchases

Google Play processes Still Alight Pro purchases, and RevenueCat keeps the Pro records for us under an anonymous app-specific identifier. Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or delete those records. Cancel a subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions or with Manage subscription in the app.

To ask us to delete RevenueCat's records of your purchase, email tex@discvault.us with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.), since there is no app account to look you up by. Deleting these records does not cancel or refund a purchase. Google Play keeps its own order records under your Google account; manage those through Google.
