Include your phone model, Android version, app version, what you were doing and what happened. A screenshot can help, but remove names, photos or personal messages you do not want to share. You do not need to send your remembrance content or original audio to ask for help.
Light a candle
On Home, use Tap to Light. To put the candle out, press and hold Hold to Extinguish for five seconds, so a stray tap cannot extinguish it. Drag across the candle to turn it. Style offers Classic, Triple wick and Oval · Wood wick shapes, with the available candle colors and labels. Controls opens Glow, Sound and Timer.
Make it your own
Open Style → Customize label → Quick label for a template with a name, message and optional photo, or use the full editor to draw, add text and arrange layers. Save & apply saves the editable design and puts it on the selected candle. Returning to the original label keeps the saved design available for later.
Add a remembrance
Open Remembrance, add a loved one and enter the name and optional personal message you want to use. You can light a remembrance candle manually or add meaningful dates. The app's calendar uses dates you enter; it does not import your phone's calendar or contacts. Each loved one can have one scheduled date for free; Still Alight Pro adds more. Dates saved earlier keep working.
Dates use your phone's local time. A scheduled candle updates while the app or wallpaper is visible, or when it becomes visible again. Still Alight does not wake the phone for a remembrance date. A yearly date on 29 February lights on 28 February in other years.
Under Edit → Their sound, choose Silent (the default for new loved ones), Same as my everyday sound, Soft rain, Fireside, or A recording of my own for that loved one. Their sound plays while their candle is lit. If their candle lights on your live wallpaper while the app is closed, Still Alight offers a quiet notification with Play their sound. Turn on Start the sound when their candle lights on my wallpaper to start it automatically where Android allows. Allow notifications when asked so the Play button can appear.
Set the live wallpaper
Open Live wallpaper to choose a bundled background, a color, or your own image through My Photos. Use Adjust to frame a photo. Set Wallpaper opens Android's apply screen; home-screen and lock-screen choices depend on your phone. Save Background updates an already-applied Still Alight wallpaper. The Forest, Beach and Mountains scenes are part of Still Alight Pro; you can watch an ad to try one for 24 hours.
The wallpaper itself is silent unless a loved one's sound is started for their remembrance candle. It does not add or rearrange launcher clocks, icons or widgets. Still Alight does not include a home-screen widget.
Sound and imported audio
Open Controls → Sound for Soft rain, Fireside or Off. To use your own audio, tap Watch ad to access custom audio and finish the ad to choose one file; with Still Alight Pro, Choose audio file opens the picker directly. Still Alight imports a private copy of a supported file up to 250 MB, and saved audio plays without another ad. Format support depends on the phone; MP3, M4A, OGG and WAV are common choices.
Audio follows the lit candle across app screens. Turn on Keep playing in Sound to listen while reading in another app or with the phone locked. Android media controls let you pause and resume the sound. With this option off, leaving the app pauses playback and returning resumes it. Replace audio file (after an ad, unless you have Pro) changes your saved selection; Remove audio removes Still Alight's copy. Neither action deletes the original file.
Enable Beat-responsive flame in Controls → Sound to make the lit flame pulse with the sound Still Alight is playing. It is off by default and part of Still Alight Pro; you can watch an ad to try it for 24 hours. Triple wick uses separate flames for low, mid and high tones; Oval wood wick shows three responsive sections along one continuous flame. Classic pulses as one flame. It does not respond to music in other apps. The first use with a large imported file can take a moment to analyze while its playback continues. Still flame · reduced motion keeps the flame steady even when the sound option is enabled.
If an import fails, try a supported file stored on your phone and check its size. A cancelled or failed import keeps the previous selection.
Timers and motion
Use Controls → Timer to start a timed candle, or choose Unlimited to let it glow without one. While a timer runs, Pause timer freezes the remaining time and wax while the candle stays lit. The Timer sheet then offers Resume to continue or Restart to begin the selected duration again. A paused timer stays paused when you leave or reopen the app. Running countdowns catch up when you reopen the app and are not affected by changing the phone's clock while it stays on. After a restart, they follow the phone's clock.
Open Settings for Keep screen awake and Still flame. Keep screen awake is off on new installations and applies only while a lit app is in the foreground. Energy-saving settings selects a still flame and lets the display sleep. Choosing an already-selected timer keeps the current session; pause it to access Restart.
Backup and restore
Open Settings → Backup & restore to create a password-protected backup or restore one. Backups include remembrance, labels and drafts, imported photos/audio, and settings. Choose a password of at least 8 characters and keep it safe; it cannot be recovered by support. The file stays at the destination you choose, which may be a local or cloud file provider.
Restoring replaces the app's current saved content after validating the backup. Create a backup first if you want to keep both versions. Active timers and background sound are stopped after restore. Failed validation or an incorrect password leaves current content intact.
Privacy and removing content
Candle features work offline and there is no app account. Ads and Still Alight Pro purchases use the network. Read the Privacy Policy for local storage, advertising, purchase and device-transfer details, and Delete your data for removal instructions. Email support if the instructions do not match your phone's menus.
Ads
A Google ad labeled Ad can appear above wallpaper Backgrounds choices while candles and app sound are off. If it does not load, continue customizing normally; ads are never required to save, apply or customize. Ads are suppressed during any everyday or remembrance burn, background/app sound, full-screen preview and photo importing. There are no interstitial or app-open ads. A rewarded ad plays only when you choose one: to import custom audio (never while a remembrance candle is lit, and never for a loved one's recording) or to try a Pro colour, scene or the beat-responsive flame for 24 hours.
Where your region requires it, Google's consent form appears first and Settings → Ad privacy choices lets you change your choice. Use Settings → Wallpaper ads to turn wallpaper ads off; Settings → Privacy policy reads the full policy offline. The app processes your personal candle creations locally; Google's advertising SDK has separate network and device data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
Still Alight Pro
Still Alight Pro is optional and removes all ads. It adds eight more wax colours, the Forest, Beach and Mountains scenes, the beat-responsive flame, every label sticker and shape, more than one remembrance date for each loved one, and your own audio without an ad. Choose monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase through Google Play; prices are shown before you buy. Open it from Settings → More for your candle or by tapping any Pro item.
- Restore: open Still Alight Pro and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the Google account you bought with, for example on a new phone or after clearing app storage.
- Cancel: tap Manage subscription in Still Alight Pro, or use Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. Email support if you need help with a purchase.
